art + architecture

Saturday Lee and I discovered a new store. It was a rainy afternoon so we drove over to Spinario's new location in Minneapolis to look for some mid century pieces. Afterward we took the kids downstairs to Cupcake. And next to Cupcake was Art & Architecture.

A huge space and so eclectic. Doors, old knobs, cabinets, maps. The kids wanted to touch everything so we didn't stay long. This morning I had a chance to head back sans kids and look through everything slowly. We're thinking of one of these white industrial pendants for over our dining table. They remind me of pendants from barn light electric and are a fraction of the cost.

Do you know of any other eclectic architectural stores in the Twin Cities? According to the seller today, they sell often to Hunt and Gather..its been on my list to visit there for months!

  2. i love that place! So much fun and funky old stuff to drool over. Someday when I don't live in a boring, character-less split level, I will buy a treasure trove from there. :-) Cupcake is amazing too - I LOVE their food.

  3. There's a place called Northwest Architechtural Salvage on Selby and Chatsworth. I've never been in there, but I drive past it on my way to school. I've always thought I should stop in one day.
