a someday beach cottage

Its been a while since I have written a personal post. In a lot of ways it is easier to share pretty pictures without a story behind them. But I would like to keep this blog attached to life. And to be honest, I miss where I grew up.
There are a lot of great things about where we live now: cool summers, playgrounds around every corner, free outdoor concerts. We have lived in Minnesota for six years, and we have all adapted and (I catch myself talking with a Minnesota accent!) But culturally Minnesota is a different country from South Carolina and Georgia and 1,300 miles is a long way from our family and the lowcountry.
So today I am going to daydream about a fictitious beach house we might own someday near the Atlantic. A mini cottage. Something small with character and creative uses of space. A mix of natural and painted paneling. Lots of natural sunlight. A place family and friends would like to visit.
Do you ever daydream? I have a whole blogging category for it (ha!) Would you like to live in a cabin or a cottage or a farmhouse? I would love to hear about it!
