2014 Instagram Favorites (Part 2: Life in North Carolina)

This is Part 2 of Instagram highlights from our family this year! Check out Part 1 here.

At the end of May our family packed our suitcases and drove south to North Carolina. We lived in temporary housing for several weeks and closed on our new house in July. It was a whirlwind of events, sandwiched in with good things like a trip to Salt Lake for a design conference called Alt Summit and a trip to the ocean with friends.

Beautiful Oak Island, NC. We spent 2 nights there with friends. It was just enough time to relax and enjoy the salt air. Baby girl ended up in urgent care our last day (I blogged about it here).

We purchased a much newer house than our previous 1950s home. And have focused on getting the large pieces of furniture we need and decorating with what we have. Looking forward to painting in the upcoming months!

Introduced the kids to Krispy Kreme! They are now loyal customers  (hats and watching the doughnut production, so much to love!)

Both kids go to elementary school! I had a lot of anxiety leading up to this, and it was a last minute decision to send baby girl. But it has been truly good for the whole family. I volunteer at the school a few hours a week and the structure has been good for all of us.

I find myself enjoying cooking and doing it more often. Southern recipes are my favorite, but planning to add healthy recipes to our diet this year!

Painting pinecones with all the kids' cousins was a huge highlight. We spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with family this year. And after living far away from everyone for many years we treasure the time together!

That just about sums up our year! Lots of change, good things, and looking forward to what 2015 brings. What do you look forward to?
