I love back to school shopping! I have great memories of it when I was a child and am happy to pass that on to our kids. Frugal shopping is a standard in our home: I shop the sales and discounts (our Crazy8 had crazy good deals this week: $3 boy polos and $3 girl t-shirts). BUT there are a few things completely worth splurging over. Here are my top 4!
Buying a sturdy pair of sneakers and sandals is a must! We purchased Tsukihoshi Sneakers (affiliate link) for both kids last fall. Their shoes were comfortable for recess and they lasted all year. They cost 2x as much as Target or Wal-Mart shoes and they lasted 4x as long.
Our kids bring in a water bottle everyday with their snack and the cheaper bottles tend to leak. Plus I want a bottle they can open themselves, so Camelback or Nalgene (affiliate links) are the way to go. We have had ours a few years and they still work! Just be sure to write their names on them!
I purchased lunchboxes from the big box store last fall and was so disappointed with their quality. The plastic tore, the handles were hanging by a thread. This year I purchased ours from Land's End. I even splurged and added their names to the front so they don't get lost.
Now for the really fun part!
