We live in a neighborhood with beautiful mature trees. And every fall we have a blanket of leaves on the ground. So when I spotted a photo of metallic leaves and branches in November's Better Homes and Gardens I had to try it.
I took our two preschoolers to Ace Hardware Friday where they promptly ran down the aisles. The guy helping me had a good laugh while I chased them down. I managed to select a can of Rustoleum Pure Gold and a bag of their free popcorn before we headed home.
I collected a bundle of freshly fallen leaves from around the neighborhood and sprayed them with a quick coat of metallic gold paint. One coat on the front, and the next day a coat on the back.
A quick and affordable autumn diy project. Beautiful on a mantle or in a vase.
