After a quick hello with icy weather, this week our area has blue skies and warmer temperatures. Birds are chirping and I find myself hoping for Spring! We still have another month before Spring officially begins, but why not bring it indoors?
My husband recently gave me a new camera, and I am taking every opportunity to practice with it! Flowers are incredibly patient things to take pictures of (especially indoors when there isn't even a breeze!)
Below are three unique ideas for adding flowers to your home. And the fun thing about each of these three is we found them through a thrift store! Milk glass, crystal, and silver can all be found at your local thrift store if are persistent (check out this blog post for more thrifting tips + tricks!)
1. Lay flowers gently in a silver serving bowl
Quick tip: don't polish the silver when you bring it home! The patina gives the bowl texture and charm. Similar bowl available on Etsy here.
2. Introduce a milk glass vase to fresh greenery
Milk glass is easy to find, and the classic look shows well at special events and weddings.
3. Add flowers to a sparkly crystal decanter
I found this crystal decanter last winter at our local Habitat Restore and gave it to my husband for Christmas. We aren't liquor drinkers, but I love the design and it fits in well on our brass bar cart.
