Do you know how hard it is to hold a surprise for weeks? That is how I feel when I do a remodel project and have to keep it a secret! Last month I painted our dated 1990s oak cabinetry in the kids’ bathroom.

The cabinet was in good shape physically, but I wanted to make it more personal. The result was bold and cheerful with a slight Caribbean vibe, and the kids loved it!

It cost under $100 to complete and was finished in a weekend. I can’t wait to paint our master bathroom next!

Head over here to eHow, where I share a detailed tutorial for how to sand, prime, and paint your oak vanity cabinet.
